Allison is passionate about living a healthy, connected and conscious life. She believes that we have the power to heal ourselves through proper body alignment, breath awareness and living in harmony with nature. Health is indicative of an aligned and balanced life—when we bring our bodies into alignment, other aspects of our life will follow suit.
For Allison, yoga class is a form of moving meditation and self-discovery. In her classes you will experience invigorating and nourishing flows catered to all levels. She encourages students to mindfully release unnecessary tension and instead create balance and ease in the body. Allison’s goal is to inspire students to foster a greater connection with their own hearts and to live authentically from that place.
Growing up, Allison lived and worked on her family’s Azalea nursery, which grew her affinity for the natural world. With a calling to service and an affinity to the natural world and those who inhabit it she graduated college with a Bachelor’s degree in geology and minors in Spanish and environmental studies. After college she lived aboard a sailboat with her now husband where she learned to sail, cleaned out her diet and started regularly practicing yoga and meditation.
Allison is a dedicated practitioner and student of yoga. In 2006, she received her 200 hour teaching certificate in Integral Yoga, founded by Sri Swami Satchidananda. Swami’s inclusive motto “truth is one, paths are many” deeply resonated with her. She began teaching yoga and in 2010, she completed her 500 hour teaching certificate in Prana Flow® Yoga, founded and led by the inspirational and revolutionary Shiva Rea. She now lives in Portland, Oregon where she teaches yoga classes, workshops, retreats and leads yoga teacher trainings. She continues her studies in living sadhana, Ayurveda, anatomy, alignment, subtle body and yoga sequencing. She is grateful to the many teachers who have shaped her teaching and gives deep pranams to her most influential teachers Shiva Rea, Maria Garre, Sianna Sherman, Cate Stillman and Todd Jackson.
When Allison isn’t teaching you might find her gardening, hiking or exploring the natural treasures of the Pacific Northwest and beyond with her husband, two children and dog Bodhi. She endeavors to practice what she preaches.
